Ripple’s Effect

SHAWN ACHOR + AMY BLANKSON

With Ripple’s Effect, Harvard-trained researcher Shawn Achor and GoodThink CEO and Happiness and Technology expert, Amy Blankson (aka Unicorn Amy), bring the science of positive psychology and The Happiness Advantage to kids! This delightful tale teaches children that happiness is a choice they get to make for themselves.

No one will play with Ripple, the new dolphin at the aquarium, because of Snark and his shiver of sharks. No one is having any fun at all.

With her trainer’s reminder that happiness is a choice and that we can each make the world a better place because of who we choose to be, Ripple is determined not to be intimidated by Snark. To put an end once and for all to Snark’s no-fun rules, Ripple challenges Snark to a staring competition—if she can make Snark smile, Ripple wins and everyone gets to play.

Will Ripple’s smile be enough to save the day?

Who Is Ripple?

Ripple’s Effect is being embraced by all who read it, including the Mom’s Choice Awards.

In Ripple’s Effect, a story for children teaches that a gesture as simple as a smile can have a profound effect on others.”
